The Art of Elysium, a nonprofit organization that pairs volunteers from the arts with children battling serious medical conditions, has announced actress Ali Larter and husband Hayes MacArthur as the next Spirit of Elysium award recipients. Jennifer Howell, the organization’s founder, made the announcement at the LA Art Show opening night party Wednesday.
All the proceeds from the premiere party will help the Art of Elysium’s efforts to increase the number of school children who visit the Getty Museum through its Title One School visits program.
The award is given each year to an artist that has shown consistency in volunteering for the organization. The program’s participating artists provide acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing workshops for ill children.
Larter and MacArthur are the first couple to ever receive the award. Past recipients include David Arquette, Elijah Wood, James Franco, Kirsten Dunst and Eva Mendes.
Larter and MacArthur will be officially honored at the Art of Elysium’s seventh annual Heaven Gala, to be held in January 2014.
